Water

Babeș-Bolyai University has an water usage and recycling policy which sets the guidelines for reducing considerable energy consumption. Thus, in 2020 the Administration Council of the BBU issued decisions (17 642/7.12.2020) regarding  the application of certain measures with regards to the usage of water within university walls.

The main points of the decisions are:

  • To minimise water consumption, in the event of major repairs, water taps and toilets will be replaced with items equipped with sensors, subject to financial constraints.

  • Each UBB building must provide at least one free and unrestricted drinking water point accessible to UBB students and staff.

Waste water is treated and recycled by authorities, none is let free on university grounds. In order to contribute to water retention BBU supports the plantation of natural vegetation on university campuses, also maintaining several parks and gardens which contribute essentially to the quality of air in urban areas. Several of these parks are accessible to the public, as the Alexandru Borza Botanical Garden, the Mikó Garden, the Iulia Hațieganu Sport Park and others.
